In short, I’m a design-minded human on a mission to make healthcare suck a little bit less.
Design research is my sweet spot, and I’m actively learning more about the systems that surround us in order to change them from within.
As a Consumer Experience Design Manager at Memorial Hermann Health System, I connect the dots between patients, providers, families, and staff to co-create solutions for a healthier, more human future. I’ve led research efforts and helped shape systemwide strategic initiatives amidst an ever-changing, complex landscape.
Previously: was part of UT Austin’s first-ever MA in Design focused on Health cohort, led marketing & communications at Rock Health, and studied Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley
Presently and perpetually: dreaming of dim sum, Giants baseball, and road trips down the Central California coast
I bring a healthy dose of optimism and positivity to everything I do. Work isn’t always easy, and especially when tackling thorny systemic issues, heavy conversations abound. You can count on me for a little levity and lots of laughs.
As a true Enneagram Type 9, I’ve been dubbed the glue that keeps the team together. I’m as go-with-the-flow as they come, but sometimes struggle to say “no” when my plate is too full—and I tend to avoid conflict even when it might be healthy.
When I’m around, no typo is safe and every pixel has its place. My attention to detail and desire for everything to be perfect (I’m working on it) mean my eyes are often the last to look over a deliverable before it goes out.
I do my part to ensure every voice is heard, whether this means speaking up or stepping back. I value leadership that fosters this sort of environment and personally work to lead by example.
High sensitivity to weather—both atmospheric and emotional. I read rooms and people pretty well, and adapt myself accordingly. (65-71° are my ideal temps)
Organizing Zoom co-working and workout sessions with friends. I thrive on accountability!
Stopping to stare at and snap photos of skies, shadows, sidewalks, and just about everything else.
Harmonizing to any song that’s playing, often subconsciously and probably to the dismay of those around me.
Being that friend who always has napkins in her bag.
Drinking tea and hot water no matter the time or place. Apparently this is attributed to my Chinese upbringing.
Striking up conversations with strangers. When did I go from being a super shy child who ran from adults to a confidently curious conversation-starter?
